Maxine is about three years old. Fita rescued her off the harsh streets of Wuhan, China. Possible abandonment by her “owner”. We are just glad that Fita got to her before the dog meat traders did. Maxine weighs 77 pounds. She put on about a third of her body weight after Fita rescued her and Fita worked very hard to get weight down from 88 pounds to now. Maxill is the sweetest pup one would ever meet. She is almost perfect, very good with the other dogs and very friendly with people, and she never bothered the cats at Fita’s shelter. She is vet checked to be healthy, has all her vaccination up to date and she is spayed. Maxine is being fostered in Vancouver by a wonderful lady who has helped with quite a few of Fita’s dogs. But Maxill is so longing to have a family she can call her own. If you have a spot in your heart for Maxine, please get in touch with us. This is an update from Maxine’s foster mom: “Maxine seems to be adjusting very well. I believe she slept through most of the night with no accidents. We went for a walk this morning and she did very well on leash. I gave her breakfast after we got back and she ate everything. She is a very lovely dog. Someone will adopt her very quickly”. (Unfortunately, there is a fee associated with Maxine’s adoption. It cost Fita more than $1600 to send Maxine from Wuhan to Vancouver. We are asking for an adoption fee of $750 to help Fita recover some of the cost and save more dogs. Thank you for your understanding.)
